History / Affiliations
Cairn Christian School began in 1988 as Covenant Christian school: an offshoot of an overcrowded Wellandport Christian School. A group of Christian families had a vision for providing Christian education in the Smithville area and Covenant was born. It has provided a vibrant setting for students to explore God’s world in the light of God’s Word since its inception.
Cairn is an active member of the Ontario Alliance of Christian Schools (OACS); a support organization which includes over 70 schools and serves more than 11,000 students. Regular School Quality Reviews are just one of a number of services they provide to support high quality education in schools that seek to honour God in education.
We are also a member school of Christian Schools International. CSI expects its members to strive for, attain, and maintain high standards. They provide resources, products, events, and services that equip and enable member schools to carry out their mission.
Our teachers are members of Edifide, an educators association whose mission is to enlighten, equip and encourage Christian educators. They are a vibrant, stimulating community of Christian educators on the leading edge of new ideas and best practices.
Inspiring students to love, learn, and lead together in God's world.
To be the leaders in education by inspiring a diverse and unified student body to love, learn, and lead with God's grace, bringing Christ's love to the world.

Cairn Christian School Board
Cairn Christian School was formed in 1999 as the Niagara Association for Christian Education when the John Knox Memorial Christian School in Fruitland and Covenant Christian School in Smithville joined together to more effectively, and more stewardly, provide Christian day school education to the Christian families in the Niagara and East Hamilton areas.
Our Association has enjoyed the unique strengths and contributions of both support communities in these early years and looks forward in hope and expectation to the years to come, so that we can endow the next generation with a vital, Christ-centred education.
